Us at OCD, as you know, especially love our old skool Wagens, not taking it away from the new skool, nu wave....whatever you wanna call it, but we specialise in that Pre 92 flavour. So we had to get our Boy Steven aka, Sumpscraper involved in the fold, in all fairness, this is one of my personal favourite MK2's, it flosses so much style and Stevens worked damn hard to get it where it is today....
We need to emphasise, this MK2 seriously advertises that "Build not bought" label, with steven doing most, if not all of the work himself, he bought this unmolested "2" in late 2007 from a lady owner from new....showing some really low mileage, damn, he's had it three years and it's only on 43k! its not even run in! he didn't have intentions of really of touching it, in fact, at one point they were just going to use the engine for his brothers caddy and scrap it, but steve, with a heart of golf, ahem, sorry, I mean, a heart of GOLD ( ha ha ) saved it from Dub heaven. So doing the right thing, the project began , because when acquiring a MK2, it's like being given a blank canvas, you can paint many different things with on it!
So here is the Spec now, after Stevens hard work:
It is a 1.6 8v, with a performace cam, ported a polished head, 4 branch manifold and group M sport OMP exhaust.
Standerd seats, with a team 280mm steering wheel.
lowered on coilovers.
full polly bush lower arms and whole front end
Running 256mm front brake setup, running EBC Greenstuff pads and discs
Sitting on BBS RMs 6.5x15 front with 165/50/15s, Rears 8x15 with 195/45/15s .
and here is the end result....
The first sets of shoes it flossed, Weller 13x8 ET-10
How it looks today, 2010....
