Turbos with A Twist

So with a storm brewing and heading towards 2011 at a rapid rate, it was finally time to build the OZ Turbos back up. With a change in colour of centers and bolts, and some freshly polished dishes, they look as fresh as a daisy. So fresh ive never seen a set like it...

So with one job checked off the checklist, the next job is to start the work on the caddy for Ultimate Dubs, this year it will be ready to take to a show with my head held high, rather than a garage full of bits ready to go on. With new engine, some carbs, paint, wheels, and bagyards...the countdown starts here.

We will be blogging alot more over this winter, we have all been a bit boring and working our butts off, mainly to pay for what we love doing!

so keep checking back!

The MK1 has it's share of the coils....

So everyone, been a bit since I have got the MK1 up on here updated with pics of it on the coils, in all fairness, it's been sitting on them since before edition, but just been trying hard to get it on here! so here goes....

the bank holiday monday came before edition, Jambo and myself were bored and decided enough was enough, it's time to get the MK1 down to where it should be....

So....

Off with the old springs and struts....
Nose down dubs....
New coilover units on....
Setting the ride stiffness, cos we all know the woman like it stiff.... ; )
Finally set....
The end product, one lowered, but dirty MK1, weather had been bad, so wasn't able to detail....
Jambo and the finished MK1....

So now the coils were on, drove it for a week, plus a distance up to Northampton for Edition38 and back, the ride height finally settled, and was craving for that rear end to be dropped down a touch. once this was completed, it was time to get all the camber and Geometries set, the guys down at wheels in motion set her to a "fast road" setup, and it truly handles like its on rails, as the coils are combined with a full polybushed chasis and front end along with a bottom brace....

all that was needed now, was a detail and some clean photos to be taken, so here it is, MK1 clean and low....

Thanks for looking....

Carter, The Party Starter....

Us at OCD, as you know, especially love our old skool Wagens, not taking it away from the new skool, nu wave....whatever you wanna call it, but we specialise in that Pre 92 flavour. So we had to get our Boy Steven aka, Sumpscraper involved in the fold, in all fairness, this is one of my personal favourite MK2's, it flosses so much style and Stevens worked damn hard to get it where it is today....

We need to emphasise, this MK2 seriously advertises that "Build not bought" label, with steven doing most, if not all of the work himself, he bought this unmolested "2" in late 2007 from a lady owner from new....showing some really low mileage, damn, he's had it three years and it's only on 43k! its not even run in! he didn't have intentions of really of touching it, in fact, at one point they were just going to use the engine for his brothers caddy and scrap it, but steve, with a heart of golf, ahem, sorry, I mean, a heart of GOLD ( ha ha ) saved it from Dub heaven. So doing the right thing, the project began , because when acquiring a MK2, it's like being given a blank canvas, you can paint many different things with on it!

So here is the Spec now, after Stevens hard work:

It is a 1.6 8v, with a performace cam, ported a polished head, 4 branch manifold and group M sport OMP exhaust.
Standerd seats, with a team 280mm steering wheel.
lowered on coilovers.
full polly bush lower arms and whole front end
Running 256mm front brake setup, running EBC Greenstuff pads and discs
Sitting on BBS RMs 6.5x15 front with 165/50/15s, Rears 8x15 with 195/45/15s .

and here is the end result....

The first sets of shoes it flossed, Weller 13x8 ET-10

How it looks today, 2010....

Camber anyone...?
Stunning.... <3
Wonder where he gets the Nickname "Sumpscraper" from....GO FIGURE!

Brindles Stage One RM'MMMMMMMM

Here Ye' Here Ye', Come get your latest copy of The OCD update. Ha, on a serious note, remember when i said watch this space Our boys will be dropping soon, well, that time has come.

Brindle, Bought himself some lovely RMs for the one and only MK1 of his, he bought them knowing the dishes were a slight over kill on the front, backs are fine, cos we all like a bit of dish, but the fronts had to be changed to something along the lines of 7s, so Brindle shipped them to the one and only Voodoo Motor Sport ( 01442 831 807 ) for Elie to do his thang with. Brindle then got his RMs back the saturday just gone (9th of October 2010) to then lace them up snug in some 195/45s rear and 165/50 front, Rob likes some staggered swagger. This was the end result.....

Enjoy....
